Dicks burgers and In-n-out

The week was truly one of coincidences, and the weekend was no exception. In addition to Miggy, Clifton was also in town, along with a handful of players from LA. Doc Pop organized a meet-up, and sooner or later, there were over 25 yo-yoers hanging out in Yerba Buena Gardens in San Francisco. Alann and I filmed as many players as we could. With Coleman gone, I spent the last few days in San Francisco with Alann, Tessa, Miggy, and Ernest, which felt like another week in itself.

On Sunday, Coleman discovered that DXL was happening that day, so he made a trip out and filmed everyone there. Just like how we had Dick's Burgers and In-N-Out on the same trip, we went to two of the most iconic yo-yo clubs.

Honestly, the week couldn’t have gone better.
The trip really reaffirmed my love for the yo-yo community - how supportive, interesting, and unique it is. Reflecting on everything now, it's surreal how everything seemingly managed to fall into place.
This trip embodied the values of the project itself - finding an even balance between spontaneity and calculation, and reinforced why Canopy exists in the first place: to celebrate the many faces that make our community so unique, with an emphasis on collaboration.
Everyone's covered.
